Ask Questions & Get Involved!
We’re here to make your Race Experience with SEK QLD as enjoyable as possible.
No question is a ‘silly’ question, only the ones not asked.
Don’t feel uneasy asking questions, our entire community is here to help you however we can. The only bad question is the one you don’t ask. Don’t assume; we’ll leave the old adage alone. If you want to know anything, even if you’ve already asked but didn’t quite understand the answer, please ask us again. Our mission is for you to have the best racing experience possible, that’s only possible if you’re comfortable and asking questions helps a lot!
Whilst the SEK QLD team are happy to support you through the weekend with technical support and assistance, a key component of racing is learning about the equipment, how to set it up, how to maintain and repair it and the best way to do that is to start learning on Day 1! So come prepared to get hands-on, but know we’re here to support and guide you every step of the way.
Your Arrive and Drive experience is designed to give you a true understanding of what the series is about, so we’ll be encouraging you to learn how to set up your kart and clean/prepare it between sessions (Practice, Qualifying etc.)
What to expect on race day.
Upon arrival at the track, find a member of the SEK Committee who will guide you to where your “Arrive and Drive” kart is and help you get set up for the day. Our SEK committee member will also support you with understanding when and where Fuel Submission should be done. Once that’s complete we’ll show you over the kart and explain how the scrutineering process would normally work, before then introducing you to the chief scrutineer who will collect your Self-Scrutineering Form (which SEK QLD will prepare) along with your Indemnity Form(s).
Your nominated SEK Committee member will be there to support you with any questions throughout the event, even though they themselves may be racing. They’ll provide you with alternate contacts so you will have someone available to ask questions at all times and as needed.
During Driver’s briefing, listen carefully as there will be key information shared. We’d encourage you to be with or near your nominated SEK Committee member during the briefing so you may ask any questions as needed.
You will also have an additional session at the end of the Driver’s briefing to help explain pit and refueling procedures.
Remember, if you’re unsure – ASK!
